Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells Rockabilly Festival returns
Hot rods, custom bikes, Burlesque, old-school and the sights and sounds of the 1950s will again converge at the second Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells Rockabilly Festival to be held on 8 November, 2014, at the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch in the Western Cape.
Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells held their first festival in Cape Town in November last year with over 1500 people attending. The entire festival was a highlight with people coming as far as Germany, KZN and Kimberley, and while last year's festival was big, this year's festival promises to be even bigger.
Dusty Rebels and the Bombshells were inspired to create a platform where all related aspects of Rockabilly culture can be celebrated together - from classic cars, custom bikes and a dirt track to the thrills of the roller derby, fashion to food, and a healthy dose of live Rockabilly music and other entertainment to take festival-goers all the way from noon to midnight.
One of the highlights of the 2014 festival will again be the Dickies Dirt Track, where festival-goers can register their classic car or custom bike for a ride on a typical dusty track. True rebels will remember the iconic Dickies brand. Born in America as a rough-and-tough clothing brand, it was adopted by motorheads who weren't willing to compromise on style, all while getting the job done
The Cape Town Ostrich Ranch is on Van Schoorsdrif Road, Philadelphia, off N7, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa (25km from CT).
Accommodation: optional overnight sleepover campsite area R300pp, includes entrance to festival.
The Dickies Track will be open from 12h00 - 17h00
Ticket prices: R200 adults online, R250 adults at the gate. R50 Children 3 to 12 years.
Classic car and bike shows
There will be amazing classic car and bike shows. Entertainment will include live performances from some of SA's top Rockabilly and Psychobilly bands as well as some of the best Burlesque performers SA has to offer.
If that's not enough there will be Bike Polo, a Skateboard park, mountain/dirt boarding and the Cape Town Roller Derby Girls doing a mini bout.
MAC cosmetics will be giving gals' the true Rockabilly red lip and eyeliner, while Scar will do the 50's hairdos to round off the pin-up look for free.
