SABC 3 TV and radio makes a fashionable debut
The partnership will give much needed support to the country's hottest designers - Craig Native, Stoned Cherrie, Black Coffee, Clive Rundle, Julian and others - and the airwaves will bling bling with fashion news, gossip, interviews and updates straight from the catwalks in Johannesburg.
Randall Abrahams, head of SABC Commercial Radio comments: "We are very excited to be the official media partner for SA Fashion Week 2004. It's a perfect synergy, seeing that SA's premier fashion event links strongly with the aspirations of our brands' target markets - 5fm, Metro FM, GHFM - cutting-edge, trend-setting, always searching for innovative, new and unique ideas and supporting the development of local talent."
"SAFW has come to epitomise South African style - a style that is so distinctive and happening that it can inspire the world. SABC 3 prides itself on supporting and celebrating a South Africa that is progressive and sophisticated, and in this light we are thrilled about our association with the event," says Hannelie Bekker - Head of Programmes, SABC 3.
"We hope that our involvement will help to bring the achievements of our designers - and the desirability of local fashion - to the attention of a broader public than ever before," Bekker said.
