Rock band evolves into brand ambassadors
Jose Cuervo tequila has brought local rock band Evolver on board as its official rock music Jose Cuervo ambassadors. This sponsorship agreement is the first of its kind for Jose Cuervo in South Africa and will see the brand becoming more involved in the SA music industry through promotion and sponsorship, using Evolver as a vehicle.
Says Jose Cuervo ambassador Rudy Norval, “Evolver is a party rock ‘n roll band and Jose Cuervo is all about the party. Wherever they go, the good times follow; they are always having fun which aligns them well with the Jose Cuervo brand.”
Evolver, which has enjoyed a steady growth in popularity in the mainstream music market over the last couple of years, recently shared the stage with international bands Evanescence and Three Doors Down at this year's My Coke Fest.
Sean Murphy, keyboardist and backing vocalist for Evolver, says of the sponsorship deal: “It is a great honour to be chosen as ambassadors for Jose Cuervo. We think it's great that there are companies of this magnitude supporting SA music and we really appreciate the opportunities their support affords us.”
Evolver are signed to local independent record label Sovereign Entertainment. Sovereign Entertainment's Music Marketing Division is responsible for orchestrating sponsorships such as this, as well as developing strategies for brands and companies wanting to use music, artists and music events to communicate with their audiences.
