Why children must shape Africa’s digital future

It has always been a prime objective of Dance Forum to nurture dance practitioners and the residency programme offers free space for a choreographer to work in for a period of up to one month in the Dance Space. In this period, the choreographer can create a work and teach a series of master classes and host a face to face discussion re what the choreographer is working on.
The first choreographer to take up this offer is Bailey Snyman, recipient of the Standard Bank Young Artists Award 2012. Snyman will work in the Dance Space until 13 April. His schedule includes a daily open class in the Dance Space, which is open to anyone to attend. He will follow this with a working session to create the work for the National Arts Festival 2012.
Other artists who will be in residency at the Dance Space this year include South African Mcebisi Bhayi and Joey Chua Poh Yi from Japan.
