MasterChef SA to carry prizes of R8-million

According to a report published by the Sowetan, South Africa's inaugural MasterChef competition will carry prize money of R8-million making it the competition with the highest pay-out in South Africa to date.

The Sowetan also reports that among the prizes is a sommelier course, one-on-one master classes from a cellar master, and a trip to Italy. The winner will also be able to call the Monte Vido Restaurant at Southern Sun's Montecasino his or her own.
