    Comair acquires shares in Holiday Tours

    Comair Limited announced on 7 April 2010, that it had acquired a controlling interest in the Holiday Tours wholesale business effective from 6 April 2010.

    Holiday Tours has been operating full outbound travel services to popular international destinations for the travel trade for 35 years. Comair's plans to incorporate its advanced technology infrastructure into Holiday Tours will assist with the trade and real time booking functionality to all its point-to-point destinations.

    Iain Meaker, executive manager for travel at Comair comments, "…Holiday Tours is a quality business with best of breed product range, a win-win approach to both supplier and trade partnerships and a solid management team. The track history spanning some 35 years is one of reliability and financial stability. We felt that it was the ideal fit for us as their vision was perfectly aligned with our strategy for the future."

    Holiday Tours will remain committed to its longstanding relationship with the retail travel trade on a national basis and the current management team will remain intact with Gavin Simpson as CEO, Otto de Vries as MD and Andrew Millar for marketing. Holiday Tours operates full services for the travel trade in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
