The Grand White Dinner goes north

The Grand White Dinner, a unique dinner concept in which the venue is only revealed to guests on the day of the event by SMS, is moving to Pretoria, Durban and Joburg after a successful Cape Town event in February.

In collaboration with the set theme for event, the dress code is all white with a hint of green, which incorporates the cause behind this experience, centred on uniting South Africans and our environment. Added to heighten the guest experience is live entertainment, humorous Marc Lottering, and an exquisite arrangement of entrée's to tantalise taste buds.

Having hosted 8000 guests at last years' event across the country, event organizer Madelen Johansson says the popularity behind the event is owed to the mass appeal of the event, making it an event for every person. "Age, sex, race, background for us does not matter. The colour white represents unity and peace and our event is truly all about the guests. And what sets us apart from any other event, is there is no VIP. Everybody gets treated the same. There is music but it's not a concert. The main reason for the event is to unite the South African people," explained Johansson.

Aim is to give to nature

"We don't give money to charities and our aim is to give to nature. We believe that South African people need to be more attentive when it comes to the awareness of the environment. We have again teamed up with Mpact the biggest recycling company in Africa. We recycle all waste from all events where afterwards we get reports on how waste was recycled. Once again we have partnered with GreenPop, which plants trees nationwide. Pending on attendance, we plant trees accordingly after the event to cover our carbon footprints and this is our way of giving back. We get GPS coordinates where trees are planted, and, in turn, can see and follow our little forest grow over the years to come," she added.

Picnic baskets can be purchased, alternatively tables and chairs can be rented. Guests can also bring their own food, drinks, tables, chairs and décor for a memorable picnic.

There is also a menu available with delicious variants for purchase which include freshly baked mini baguettes for starters, cheese and biscuit platter with grapes, veggie crisps and droe wors, Sticky sesame beef skewers, Moroccan chicken skewers for mains and luxury chocolate brownies for dessert.
