Ultimate X returns to GrandWest this month

On 25 February 2017, action sport festival Ultimate X returns to GrandWest for its third consecutive year. The Grand Arena will host the extreme sport spectacular where attendees will witness dramatic stunts by local and international athletes and daredevils.

The tremendous response to these events demonstrates that there is a definite and growing appetite for extreme sports amongst our community. Ultimate X returns to GrandWest this month

The Ultimate X showdown at the Grand Arena in 2015 was a groundbreaking event in action sports in Africa, with it being the only multi disciplined action sports indoor festival globally. The 2016 event followed on this success, providing a thrilling experience for thousands of spectators.

What to expect

Extreme FMX, BMX and skate athletes will show off their talents and compete for a prize of over R150,000. For this year’s event, Ultimate X collaborates with Monster Energy which brings various items to the festival such as Night Harvest, an international BMX and MTB Dirt Contest. The 2017 Ultimate X Skate contest will include international skaters, as well as The African Skate Championships comprising teams from more than 12 African countries.

Ultimate X returns to GrandWest this month

In addition to the extreme sports showcase, there will be lineup of bands and DJs to keep visitors entertained. There will be two shows, with the qualifiers taking place at midday and the finals in the evening. Tickets are available at Computicket and range from R120 to R230 per person. Food, full bar services and ample parking will be available on the day.

The doors to the Grand Arena will open at 11.00 for the qualifying sessions which finish at 14.30 and at 18.00 for the final round which will finish at 21.30. For more information, visit www.ultimatex.co.za.
