Roar of the the Lions resounds at Tsogo Sun Properties

Following on the successful joint venture with the Springbok Supporters Club to bring Boktown to Montecasino for the 2007 Rugby World Cup, Tsogo Sun Gaming, the gaming giant which holds licenses for seven diverse leisure destinations throughout South Africa, has concluded a partnership agreement with the Springbok Supporters Club and South African Breweries to once again host the official supporters village for the upcoming Castle South Africa 2009 Lions Series.

Boktown will be coming to Montecasino in Fourways and SUNCOAST on the Durban beachfront when the British and Irish Lions tour South Africa from 30 May to 4 July. This massive coup for the two entertainment meccas forms part of Tsogo Sun Gaming's partner alliance strategy, a marketing initiative which has seen the company forming strategic partnerships with like-minded companies to bring a variety of world-class events to their properties, including the likes of the recent SA Tennis Open, the Jozi Comedy Festival, the SA Tattoo, Celine Dion, Madame Zingara and Taste of Joburg.

“Our relationship with the Springbok Supporters Club began with the hosting of Boktown for the duration of the 2007 Rugby World Cup. In the process, we established strong ties with SAB, who were one of the official tour partners and provided additional infrastructure for the screenings of the games. In 2009, this successful relationship between the three parties will once again be synergised to provide a venue where rugby fans can enjoy all the action of the Lions Tour on the big screen, with the unmatchable opportunity to meet the players and get their autographs, plus live screenings, and additional entertainment in the form of a beer garden, live entertainment, and much more. The Montecasino Piazza has provided us with the platform to realise our shared vision of Boktown in Gauteng, while SUNCOAST will provide KZN residents with the ideal venue to enjoy the games,” says Debbie Combrink, Partner Alliance Manager of Tsogo Sun Gaming.

The deal covers a schedule of 10 matches that sees the Lions facing four provincial teams, two invitation sides, the Emerging Springboks, and the Springboks in three tests between 30 May and 4 July, and will provide rugby fans with the next best thing to being at the game - for a fraction of the price.

Boktown can be found at Montecasino in Gauteng, SUNCOAST in KZN and La Med in Cape Town on the following dates:
