Standing with the 6th key out of ten contestants, the 30-year old mother of one turned the key, unlocked and pushed the door open as she walked in with great zeal and disbelief into the walls of her new home.

The experience, that will be etched in the memories of hundreds of guests who viewed the precious moment in Southern Gateway(N1 near Meropa casino) Friday 28 June.

Dream come true

A first of its kind in the Limpopo air waves, the competition saw Limpopo's Hottest Frequency teaming up with the RBA housing development to make, what many agree as a once-in-a-lifetime dream come true competition give away.

Capricorn FM MD Cyril Chetty did not only congratulate both the winner and runner-up's, but encouraged Baloyi to look after her new home.

"We usually take things that come free for granted, failing to maintain them. This is a rare opportunity, we hope you accept with gratitude and keep in mind that a home is not only a shelter, but also an investment. It's always been part of the station's objective to ensure that the listener's needs are met beyond just mere entertainment. This reinforces that a place of accommodation features as a basic need for all individuals.'' Said Chetty.

RBA Holdings Head of Sales & Marketing Daniel Esterhyse also had warm words for Baloyi, as well as the runner-ups; "For those who didn't win, it's not the end of the world. As for Audrey, we hope you enjoy your new home and that you don't sell it or give it away."

Broadcast live

The formalities were followed with free boerewors rolls for the attendants, neighbours and curious onlookers.

With the Capricorn FM breakfast team broadcasting on site, listeners at home were kept in suspense throughout the proceedings up until the nail biting moment, when the golden key was handed out. The emotional ending was when Baloyi was officially welcomed by a neighbour from one of the surrounding homes.

The half a million rand 3-bedroom ceramic tiled house boasts a fully fitted kitchen, bedrooms with full built-in wardrobes and a lush garden.
