Make "Mission Possible" a reality for Mandela Day
Six tertiary students and three social workers will benefit from these donations. In the case of social workers, more often than not they have to attend to administrative work in their own time, after hours, as the bulk of their working day is spent either in court or counselling and therapy sessions. Having access to a laptop to keep abreast of ongoing concerns will enhance working conditions by providing a much-needed tool to alleviate some of the rapidly accumulating administrative workload, thereby affording them more face-to-face interaction time with children in need.
Six students have been chosen as recipients of laptops. Each child has benefited from the shelter and rehabilitation programmes provided by the dedicated community of the Abraham Kriel Childcare organisation. With love, care and strength, the children overcame their individual traumas to reach this well-deserved achievement.
"SOC is proud to be part of an outreach programme that provides disadvantaged children with opportunities which contribute to enhancing their futures, as well as empowering them to achieve greatness in whatever occupation they undertake", says Managing Director Ryan Sauer. "My team is cognisant of how opportunity and mentorship promotes a positive attitude", he continues, "and SOC's culture is to motivate, empower and lead by example, unconditionally supporting all 'Mission Possible' endeavours which celebrate the legacy of Mandela Day."
