Buyers ready for SA fashion at Design Indaba

As a carefully curated independent platform, the Design Indaba Expo (24-26 February 2010) fashion offering has found unique access to the international market that the show attracts - including over 350 buyers, with 160 of them from overseas. With dedicated buyers' mornings for the show's fashion designers, the real deal is what happens at their stands, not on the ramp.

However, the ramp in the DStv Event Arena will offer visitors all-day fashion shows, presented by Arise magazine, featuring show favourites Craig Native and Stiaan Louw to international stars such as Stoned Cherrie, which will show just why it is an international headliner. Plus Lalesso, who although Cape Town and Kenya-based, is probably better known overseas than here at home.

The rest of the line-up comprises David Tlale, Hip Hop, SIN by Sandhya Lalloo, I Love Leroy and Soulchild, as well as the Cape Town Fashion Council (CTFC) roster - Craig Native, Undacova, Stiaan Louw and Jacoba label. Also supported by the CTFC are Trip Handbags, made from recycling vintage leather and accessories.

Seeking something unique and special and vying for the edgy and creative, international and local buyers are sure to be thrilled with the cast of bold, alternative designers, as will the visitors.
