Port Elizabeth is first stop for Loeries Travelling Exhibition
One of the primary aims of the exhibition is to broaden awareness of the brand communications industry as a career path for learners, and encourage students currently studying brand communications. NMMU is just one of the eight educational institutions around South Africa which the exhibition will be visiting this year. “We are delighted to welcome The Loeries Travelling Exhibition to our university,” says Bruce Cadle, the Head of Applied Design at NMMU. “It's inspiring for our students to be shown the practical applications of their studies in the real world - especially those that have received such recognition for creative excellence.”
Last year the exhibition travelled as far afield as Russia and New York to expose the very best of South African creative talent to a larger audience. Its next stop is also beyond our borders, at DV8 Saatchi & Saatchi in Windhoek, Namibia.
“The students at these universities are the Loeries winners of tomorrow. By exhibiting the winning work we expose them to the kind of creative excellence that is winning awards and we hope to inspire them to start thinking in original ways, to keep South Africa's local talent producing work of international standards,” says SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.
The exhibition will be held at The NMMU School of Music, Art and Design and will be open to the public from 08h30 to 16h30 daily.
