Seal to head line-up at AIDS concert

British multi-Grammy award-winning vocalist and songwriter Seal will be the star attraction at HIV/AIDS fundraiser Positive, a fusion of music, fashion, art and cuisine taking place at Sun City, 8-11 June, 2006.

"I am proud to add my voice to the other artists uniting from across the globe to partake in Positive and send a message to the world that we can no longer stand back and do nothing to fight this disease," says Seal.

The event will be a four-day interactive festival for raising funds for Sun International's HIV/AIDS initiative, Tapologo AIDS Hospice, bringing together broad spectrum of the world's best artists, fashion designers, supermodels, musicians and chefs. Seal will perform two public performances in the Sun City Superbowl on Saturday, 10 and Sunday, 11 June.

International designers will include Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Christian Lacroix, Valentino and local designers Jenni Button, Stoned Cherrie and Craig Port. Introducing their collections will be both international and local supermodels.

"International fashion designers - generally more competitive than collaborative - are now uniting for a singular cause," says Positive creative director Gavin Rajah, who is producing the fashion element of the initiative.

Guests will also experience a five-course gastronomic banquet, with each course prepared by a Michelin-starred chef, led by world-renowned Conrad Gallagher. An international and local art exhibition will grace the walls of the Hall of Treasures, curated by Craig Kilford, British artist based in London and creative director of Positive. Patron of the Tapologo AIDS Hospice, Miss South Africa Thuli Sithole, will be the face of this event.

"Positive promises to be one of the most exciting and diverse events ever held at Sun City," says Philip Georgas, Sun International Resorts' divisional director and chairperson of Positive. "As the focus of our group's CSI programme, it provides all the elements needed to demonstrate our strong commitment to the most pressing of world causes, whilst also offering the very best in entertainment."
