Open house at the CTICC, as the centre celebrates 10 years of success

On Saturday, 29 June the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) is inviting the public to join in its birthday celebrations, and come experience the CTICC first hand.

"The Open Day, will provide an opportunity for the public to view the meetings and events facilities at the centre and gain deeper insight into what it takes to pull off a world class event" says, Chief Executive Officer, Rashid Toefy.

The CTICC is a multipurpose facility that while primarily designed for conferences and exhibitions, lends itself to a diverse array of events. On the day visitors will get an opportunity to see the flexibility and versatility of the venue and experience the centre's service offerings first hand.

A series of exciting activities are planned, which includes site tours of the various venues, speciality venue setups and an opportunity to sample the centre's cuisine offerings. In addition the centre's service providers, who offer an array of services ranging from decor, audio visual and Information Technology to stand building solutions, will also be showcasing the latest technology and trends in the meetings and events industry. Visitors will also be afforded the opportunity to engage with some of the leading suppliers in the industry and gain valuable tips on the execution of a successful event.

Fun family entertainment activities are planned and exciting prizes will be up for grabs, such as tickets to the Mi Casa and Friends Party. The special Kids Zone will include a variety of fun rides, which children can enjoy, while their parents relax and have a delicious meal at the centre's Coffee on the Square coffee shop. "The success of the centre over the past ten years would not have been possible without the support of the people of Cape Town and we are excited to have the public share in our celebrations", adds Toefy. On the day the centre's Sous Pastry Chef, Simone Zandberg will be designing a special birthday cake, which visitors can indulge in.

"As a convention centre committed to uplifting and empowering the communities in which it operates, the CTICC will be partnering with its four community partners on the day" adds Toefy. Abalimi Bezekhaya, the Foundation for Alcohol Related Research, The Haven Night Shelter and the Mitchells Plain School of Skills, will all be showcasing their initiatives. The CTICC Open Day will be held from 9am - 1pm and complimentary parking will be available.

At 8pm that evening, a special celebration event will kick off with an exclusive performance by international music sensation, Mi Casa. Joining Mi Casa will be renowned local deejays Vernon Carver and Andy Carr, who will spin the decks.

Tickets to this VIP party with Mi Casa and friends are available from Computicket at R180 each and are inclusive of secure parking, canapés and a welcome drink.
