Sport Xtreme Expo 2004 to be hosted at Ysterplaat air parade
Presented annually by the South African Air Force, the AFB Ysterplaat Air Parade is well established as one of Cape Town's major adrenaline entertainment events, with the 2003 show attracting in excess of 80 000 visitors. Thrilling displays at the 2004 Air Parade will celebrate 100 years of flight; breathtaking air exhibits and daring exploits of skilled aerobatic performers provide an ideal backdrop for the extreme air, land and water based sports that will be showcased at Cape Town's Sport Xtreme Expo.
The Sport Xtreme Expo is a two day exhibition that will run concurrently with the Air Parade on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 December. Air displays take place on both show days, and interactive demonstrations and activities on the ground include an extreme climbing wall and a wave pool with paragliding, micro-lighting and low-level flying set to add to the grace of the skies.
Sport Xtreme Expo provides a podium for leading suppliers of extreme sport equipment, services and accessories. Visitors can expect a collaboration from the best in rock climbing, kick-boxing, bungee jumping, surfing, skydiving, white water rafting, scuba diving, skateboarding, biking, snowboarding and more.
"We could not have asked for a better platform from which to launch an exhibition that is dedicated to extreme sport and activities", says Dee Reuvers, managing director of NichePro - owners and organisers of the exhibition. "We're taking excitement to the extreme and have no doubt that phenomenal displays presented on land and in the air will not fail to delight an ever increasing adrenaline seeking community."
