Industry giants HP, Google, Oracle and IBM are just some of the high profile global organisations attending Innovation Africa 2013 in Botswana this month.

The summit, being held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre from 15-17 October, will also be hosting a record number of ministers and officials from various African ministries of education, ICT and science & technology.

It has been organised by AfricanBrains, part of The Brains Network, and is being held under the Patronage of The Botswana Ministry of Education & Skills Development. It will feature a welcome address by Minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi.

The purpose of the summit is to connect industry to government and civil society whilst continuing the need and opportunity for greater public private partnership in education, science and research in sub-Saharan Africa. Central to the success of the event is the participation of the private sector committing to investing in ICT, science and research. These include other big name technology brands such as Microsoft, Intel, Samsung and Cisco.
