For those in the digital industry still wanting to enter the 2013 Bookmarks Awards, there is good news. The entry deadline has been extended to 20 September 2013. (Cue sigh of relief)

However, this is a once-off offer - not because the organisers are mean, but so as to ensure the (very fabulous) judges have sufficient time to work through all the entries.

Now in their sixth year of recognising and rewarding digital excellence, the Bookmarks Awards represent digital innovation and expertise, and aim to showcase and reward the people and projects that inspire the creative digital industry, pushing it to new limits.

Nikki Cockcroft, Chair of the Bookmarks, says: "We are happy to extend the deadline to allow a little more time to craft the very best entries. Each year we are blown away by the quality of entries and the fantastic work taking place in the digital industry, and we look forward to what 2013 brings."

The Bookmarks organisers and judges hope that this year's batch of entries pay close attention both to the entry criteria and to the element that differentiates the Bookmarks from other SA industry awards: that of measurable performance. In addition to creativity and execution, entries are required to demonstrate how the concept and delivery met a strategic objective.

"No matter how brilliant the work is, it has no value unless it adds value," Cockcroft explains.

So - while aspiring entrants have been granted some reprieve, the reality is there are now only five days left to enter the 2013 Bookmarks Awards. Best get cracking!
