Happy birthday home
According to Creative Living Magazines publisher, Terena le Roux, over the last three years the decor magazine category has grown by 22% and tuis and home have been a significant part of that growth. "There is no doubt that without these two titles, the growth of the category would have been less robust. The year tuis launched with an ABC of approximately 52,000, it boosted the category by more than 50%".
With a 48.97% circulation increase since its first ABC was published, the latest audited figures (July - December 2005) show that Creative Living Magazines' youngest titles have almost doubled their circulation year on year, bringing their total to 83 439.
Last year tuis received the ADvantage ADmag Best Newcomer of the Year award and tuis and home received a Highly Commended certificate in the home, décor and gardening category at the 2005 Sappi PICA Awards.
Tracy Greenwood, associate editor of home, says that the magazine is positioned as the ultimate practical guide to turning a house into a home. "We found that many self professed 'decorators' were not reading the available décor titles, preferring inspiration to aspiration and DIY to professional decorating.
"The magazine offers something for everyone and attracts a broad spectrum of readers from the decorating devotee to the DIY enthusiast and avid gardener. home has become an indispensable source of information and inspiration and we continually receive letters from our readers congratulating us on a great magazine concept."
Adds Le Roux "Whether it's buying or building, renovating or redecorating, gardening or growing herbs, cooking or catering or simply just good looking living - home gives readers the tools they need to just do it... themselves."
home and tuis are available countrywide at selected stockists for R18,95.
