21-years-young for Cosmo

South Africa's favourite English women's glossy magazine, Cosmopolitan, is turning 21 this month and has confirmed its number-one position with a circulation of 117 255 (ABC, July to December 2004). "Just over two decades ago Cosmo exploded onto the South African scene with provocative journalism, sexy beauty shoots and all the tips SA's young women were looking for," says Vanessa Raphaely, editor of Cosmopolitan.

"Cosmo was and still is a firm favourite among the fun and fearless women of this country and our 296-page commemorative April issue will not let them down."

Cosmo's 21st birthday issue features the usual hot mix of current content as well as an 88-page retrospective crammed with the best of the best - from Cosmo hunks of the past, fashion and beauty highlights, good advice (and some good laughs) to the most popular articles of all time. The birthday April issue is on sale from 23 March 2005.

Cosmopolitan will be celebrating its 21st birthday at an exclusive venue in Johannesburg on Thursday, 14 April. The event is set to be the biggest and most extravagant Cosmopolitan party in 21 years and will include performances by Heinz Winckler, The Finkelstiens, The Parlotones, Muse Electric String Quartet and a mystery duo that will be revealed on the night. The party is in association with curious Britney Spears, Visa International and First National Bank. "We are not holding back on this one and in true Cosmo style will party the night away," concludes Raphaely.
