Magazines offer new editor, new edition options

This December offers South African readers interesting magazine options as a new editor takes the helm at You Pulse/Huisgenoot Pols, which will continue to provide readers with the latest medical information and stories and O goes digital in South Africa, the second such issue after the US.

Newly appointed editor Marida Fitzpatrick, says "The focus in the new look Pulse is on feel-good health, how to feel and look good. We know one is a prerequisite for the other." Actress Christi Panagio has been chosen for the cover of the first new-look issue.

"We introduce our panel of doctors in the new issue. They have medical knowledge and look like the stars of a Hollywood hospital drama" adds Fitzpatrick. "The market is ready for a health title that gives readers advice on health, sex, beauty, fitness and diet all in one attractive package."

Alongside its new web offering, O magazine SA also recently launched its digital edition exclusively on the Zinio platform, allowing readers to subscribe to the digital edition of the magazine and read it on their iPads or computers.

"We are very excited about our new digital platforms," says Samantha Page, editor of O magazine. "With the website we now have our own exclusive space where local readers can interact and form part of our growing community.

Together with our digital edition our readers are spoilt for choice on how they want to receive the magazine. This is all part of our strategy to surround them with the content they prefer on the platform of their choice.

"We are the only country in the world, other than the US, who was allowed this opportunity to launch a dedicated website, exclusive to SA readers. I anticipate a great future for oprahmag.co.za as we aim to unite strong, inspirational women through interactive platforms."
