Sbu Mpungose to helm True Love

Award-winning Sbu Mpungose has been appointed editor of True Love magazine, Thought24 CEO/publisher Jonathan Harris announced midday Monday, 26 April 2010. Mpungose takes over on 1 July 2010 from Dorah Sitole, who has been at the helm for the past two years.

Commented Harris, “I am excited to welcome Sbu to Thought24 as editor of True Love. She brings with her the exceptional editorial skills needed to be the editor of this iconic brand and the passion, drive and vision to develop and build on the title's strength over the longer term.”

In addition to attaining her journalism degree at Pretoria Technikon (Tshwane University of Technology), Mpungose was trained as a sub-editor by the Independent Group. Her working experience includes being editor of Move! and Bona magazines, as well as deputy editor of Drum and Edgars Club Magazine.

Mpungose won several awards during her tenure at Move!, including the AdVantage ADMAG Editor of the Year in 2007. Currently one of the Mail & Guardian's Young South Africans You Must Take to Lunch supplement, she also bagged the Vodacom Women in Media Award (Rising Star) in 2009.
