The new appointment has freed former editor Christian Eedes to focus on writing wine-specific content for the magazine and its other media platforms. As the tasting and wine content editor, a key role of his will be that of managing the wine judging panels, allowing him to fully use his expert knowledge of the subject to full advantage.

Henderson's editorial career began while working for the Chartered Insurance Institute in the UK, at which time she also earned an international qualification from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. Most recently she was editor of a Cape-based business-to-business title.

Henderson is said to thrilled to have joined Wine as publishing editor, a position she describes as her perfect job, merging her two great interests of publishing, and of course, wine. Her enthusiasm saw her choose the wine-producing regions of Europe as travel destinations while overseas, a knowledge she is refining since her return to the Cape, exploring the less-publicised wine regions whenever she can.

The combined role of publisher/editor was created to give both strategic and hands-on direction to the Wine brand, while allowing the Wine team to maximise their specialist skill areas.

“This will enable us to continue our initiatives of developing a full 360-degree product offering, in line with RamsayMedia's strategy to grow the digital platforms in the stable.” Henderson commented.
