FHM's sexiest media planner announced

Fiona Brauns from OMD Media Johannesburg has been voted FHM's Sexiest Media Planner in South Africa. Brauns (30) fills the thirty-something heels of last year's sexiest media planner, Starcom's Traci Hampel, who this year placed second.

Commenting on her win, Brauns said OMD Media had recently been voted Best Media Agency and "was trying to be #1 in everything". FHM's Sexiest Media Planner in SA 2004 is in elite company this year. Britney Spears was voted the Sexiest Woman in the World and Minki van der Westhuizen FHM's Sexiest Woman in SA 2004.

For her troubles, Braun wins R5 000 cash, a day at the spa and an FHM-like photo shoot.

Commenting on the success of the promotion, UCM publisher Kim Browne said: "It's an FHM brand activation exercise that allows media planners to share in the excitement of SA's market leading men's lifestyle magazine. With a print run of 170 000 copies of this year's FHM 100 Sexiest issue, it was necessary to bring the essence of the FHM brand to these agency decision makers".

To top last year's July issue sale of more than 130 000 copies, Browne has again invested in deep-pocket marketing. "The FHM 100 Sexiest issue is specially foil-bagged to differentiate it at point of purchase and for large-scale merchandising activities. Six-figure sums have gone into national and regional marketing support. In addition, AXE invested in the sponsorship of this year's FHM 100 Sexiest promotion, which is all ploughed back into its promotional activity. Not to mention the massive publicity that the poll continues to generate every year, handled by MBP".

The July issue of FHM, including the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2004 mini-magazine, brought to you by AXE is on sale from 26 May.
