According to a press statement, the decision was announced to the staff at the end of last week and the final publishing date was finalised earlier today.
“The magazine market as a whole has been going through tough times and especially niche magazines felt the pressure. While battling to hang on to their homes, magazines have become a luxury item for many South African families,” said Terena le Roux, Media24 publisher for the Alchemy titles.
“Even though Your Child will live on on the Your Parenting website [www.yourparenting.co.za], we've decided to discontinue publishing the magazine.”
The magazine was launched in September 2005 as a quarterly.
