Retailers look to custom mags for relationship building

“The increasingly competitive retail industry is proving to be the perfect platform for the customer magazine market in South Africa, which is estimated to be worth over one billion rand,” says Bridget McCarney, MD of New Media.

Figures released recently by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) show that overall customer magazine titles were up by 9% in the last quarter alone, showing that targeted magazines are potent tools for building strong customer relationships.

Furthermore, figures reveal that nine out of the top 10 circulating magazines in SA fall within the customer magazine category and more specifically, six of these top 10 publications are retail customer titles.
