Getaway extends partnerships
The Kfm Getaway Show, incorporating the Sunday Times Travel & Holiday Faire, will take place at the Good Hope Centre from 4 - 6 April. It will bring together the biggest selection of travel and related products the Mother City has seen, all under one roof.
Since exhibitors need commit to only one travel show in the Cape, the new joint venture will represent significant savings in space and stand costs as well as reduce demands on staffing and other infrastructure resources, explained Getaway Show manager, Ross Cullingworth. At the same time, visitors will be given a much wider range of product, together with adventure and travel opportunities.
"The advantage of a joint show is that we can improve the exhibitor mix," Cullingworth said. "The Travel & Holiday Faire concentrates mainly on overseas travel, while Getaway's strength lies in destinations in Africa and accessories. As a result visitors will now be treated to a vast array of travel goods and services, still for only R25 a person."
Both sponsors will market their shows independently, but will at all times refer to the show partner. Branding for both will appear outside the venue, but once inside there will be no distinction.
Exhibitors will also benefit from increased visitor numbers and greater advertising and publicity resulting from exposure through a wider range of media.
