Top UK editor for customer publishing seminar

Kerry Smith, editor of the UK customer title High Life that is distributed free to 350 000 British Airways passengers on all BA flights worldwide, has joined the line-up of speakers for South Africa’s first-ever customer publishing seminar being organised by New Media and Paarl Media.

Smith replaces Mark Jones, editorial director for Cedar Communications, who is no longer able to attend the seminar due to unforeseen circumstances.

Using High Life as a case study, Smith will present on the relationship between client, publisher and end-user and retaining a singular brand message when dealing with diverse target markets.

Smith began her journalism career as an editorial assistant for Marie Claire UK before moving on to become its celebrity editor and is a seasoned editor who has previously been deputy editor of both Glamour and the Evening Standard’s Life & Style section. Smith was the features editor for the UK’s national daily newspaper The Independent before she officially took over the reigns as editor of High Life, which is published by leading UK customer publisher Cedar Communications.
