A magazine for proud South Africans

What inspires you as a South African? Proud! the brand new, official magazine of the Proudly South African Campaign, poses this question and offers loads of stories about real people doing great things as food for thought.
A magazine for proud South Africans

Proud! promotes local people in small and large businesses that are doing well while doing good. The reader-friendly design and picture-driven storytelling is intended to make the magazine informative and inspiring. The launch edition offers a new perspective on success stories ranging from farming to the fashion industry. The magazine includes regular features such as a 2010 update which will continue throughout the editions leading up to the big event.

Published by Touchline Media, this new quarterly magazine will be available on newsstands from 17 January 2007. The magazine, which will be mailed to all Proudly SA members, will also be available in Spar retail stores, airport CNAs and selected Exclusive Books stores at a cost of R20.10.

Publisher Paul Ingpen comments: "Proud! magazine aims to fill a gap for light-hearted, reader-friendly commentary on a highly relevant subject - the good stuff. Often the positive stories are overlooked and even dismissed as government propaganda. This magazine focuses on real people's stories. This offers South Africans genuine motivational insights into the land they love, especially as we move into the global spotlight leading up to 2010."

Each issue aims to create and maintain relationships between Proudly SA and member and non-member organisations, as well as to create consumer awareness of the four pillars of the Proudly South African Campaign: local content, high quality, fair labour practice and environmental responsibility.

Says Dalene du Preez, marketing and communications executive of Proudly SA: "This new addition to the Proudly SA stable of marketing and communication tools promises to live up to the Proudly SA ethos in terms of both quality and content. We are truly proud to share this inspirational magazine with our members and readers and are confident that it will further stimulate pride in our abilities and tenacity as an entrepreneurial nation".
