Visit a brewery in action
The Castle Lager Brewmaster's Walk, a public view of brewing, was officially opened at Gauteng's Alrode Brewery on 2 December 2010. Built in 1965, the brewery produces 1,9 million litres of beer per day and is reportedly the largest brewery in the Southern Hemisphere.

Castle Lager General Manager Alastair Hewitt and Alrode Brewery General Manager Willem Bosman mark the opening of the newly revamped brewery.
"We are proud to share our rich history and legacy of brewing with the public and invite all South Africans to visit it the next time they're in Gauteng," says Alastair Hewitt, Castle Lager's GM. "Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the different stages in the brewing process, see our packaging lines in action and taste Castle Lager fresh from the brew house."
