The Longest Dinner Table features Miss South Africa 2016, MasterChef Australia
The Longest Dinner Table, in aid of Stop Hunger Now Southern Africa, is currently under way at Sandton City Shopping Centre until 7.30pm.
Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, Miss South Africa 2016
It features Miss South Africa 2016, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene; Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, Matt Preston of MasterChef Australia, joined by MasterChef Australia 2014 winner Brent Owens; and Giggling Gourmet Jenny Morris, who is the MC for the event, packing meal parcels for the charity.
The public is encouraged to join in from 11am, as participation is free. The celebrities will join at the finale at 6.30pm. The target is to pack 50,000 meals on the day.
Says Kunene, “I believe in giving back and I am privileged to find myself in a position where I am able to do just that. I am delighted to be helping pack these meals, which are nutritionally balanced, for Stop Hunger Now SA. It is shocking that so many children in this country go to school without a meal. If we want to make a difference we should start with our children.”
