Inter-agency battle of the bands
With names like The Sick Leaves, The Privates and 'To be decided', the inter-agency battle of the bands on Sunday, 17 September 2006, at Loeries is sure to be a highlight of the weekend. Ogilvy, Moo and JWT have already entered, with a blend of musical 'styles' incorporating rock, indie and 'stuff'! Organisers are urging the other agencies with muso talent to sign up now.
That's right, our industry's creative talent is unrivalled, and we want you to put it all on show. Not only are we art directors, copywriters, creative directors, designers and some rather slick suits; we're also photographers, artists, actors and actresses ... we're guitar players, pianists, drummers, singers - we're musos!
And there's never been a better opportunity to strut your 'other' creative stuff than at The Loerie Awards Festival Weekend inaugural 'Inter-Agency Battle of the Bands'. Best of all, there's cool prizes to be won by those bands that get the audience really rocking.
This is - apart from your sets - all you need to know:
Date: Sunday September 17Time: From 11am until we have a winner...
Venue: Margate Beach
Equipment: There will be a backline on stage and there will be guitars will be available. However, it would be preferable if you brought your own guitars.
Registration: Bands must register in advance with Tammy at .
Band format: There isn't one; bands can be made up as you please and can therefore comprise people from the same agency, or people from different agencies.
