The centre is purchasing the first 50 blankets to get the ball rolling. Twenty nine charities working directly with the Gauteng's most destitute are set to benefit from this outpouring of seasonal cosiness. "The blankets are the official Red Cross relief blankets," says centre manager Jacqui Douglas. "They're washable, warm and all going to those who need them most."
The Harley Davidson bikers will be "hogging" the limelight with their iconic motorcycles, favourite personalities will be in attendance, there'll be entertainment, including face-painting for kids.
In contribution to the cause Easipark, Africa Security Solutions and Umhlanga Cleaning Services are sponsoring extra staff members to ensure that the event runs smoothly and that everyone has a safe time, while supporting this truly warming cause. Pick n Pay Morningside Shopping Centre will also be sponsoring food for all the volunteers on the day. In addition, each person buying a blanket will receive a free parking voucher.
