Take heart
From October 19, 2007, the new menus at John Dory's Fish and Grill restaurants will feature the Heart Mark restaurant symbol for selected meal items.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation's goal is to improve the nation's health by offering the public a simple and reliable way of identifying the most heart-healthy menu choices at selected restaurants, and the way they are doing it is by using the Heart Mark Restaurant symbol.
The symbol is a guideline for customers to recognise healthier meals when eating at any one of the 20 restaurants in the group. The program is designed to assist the public in making healthier choices when dining out by encouraging restaurants to provide healthier food option and thereby join forces with the Heart and Stroke Foundation in its fight against heart disease. These options are lower in fat, cholesterol, salt and where applicable, higher in fibre.
With obesity figures in South Africa increasing at an alarming rate, John Dory's Fish and Grill is committed playing their part in raising the public's awareness of this health issue.
