Suzaan Heyns opens in Melrose Arch

Suzaan Heyns has opened a flagship store, offering a unique blend of art, design and fashion, in the new Melrose Arch shopping district. The store is a testament to her artistic vision, supported by her ongoing partnership with PPC, which follows on from her "Reimagine Concrete" collection earlier this year.

"The collaboration between Heyns and the company showcases how innovation can create new frontiers for both the fashion and construction industries. We firmly believe that if you can imagine it, our products have the strength to make it possible," says Sibongile Mooko, PPC GM: marketing services.

Heyns worked closely with design duo Bartel Van Vuuren and Liezle Fourie of Sobeit Studio, who produced furniture and installations that are features and objects d'art. Sybrand Weichers, previous winner in the PPC Cement Young Concrete Sculptor Awards competition, made sculpted 'creatures' that appear in a pending state of animation.

Models wearing Suzaan Heyns couture and striking, conceptual make-up and hair by MAC Cosmetics and Wyatt Hairdressing Barbering, served guests a signature cocktail by mixologist Kevin Snyman from Bombay Sapphire.

The store offers menswear and womenswear and an exclusive range of Celine, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen sunglasses, with jewellery by Sobeit and Ivka Cica.
