PRISMs to be held in Cape Town in 2011

For the first time in the PRISM Award's 14-year history, the event will move from Gauteng to Cape Town in March 2011, fitting tribute to the fact that several Cape Town based consultancies have won the top PRISM Awards in the last few years. Entries for the awards close on 27 January 2011.

"There has been much rivalry of the public relations function in many organisations, following the economic recession of recent years and there is a need for organisations to find economical, yet effective, ways to communicate its messages to its stakeholders," explains Lesley Schroeder-McLean, PRISA's Western Cape chairman.

"The public relations profession has also had to assess its real contribution to the bottom-line of organisations by looking at its performance measurement mechanisms and levels of skills for practitioners. It is expected that the entries into the 2011 PRISM Awards will be different and innovative in many ways. No serious corporate communicator should want to miss the many new ideas that will be shared at the event."

Calling all communicators

"One does not have to be a public relations practitioner to enter, as all communication campaigns will be considered. Any organisation or person who has successfully communicated an issue, e.g potentially damaging crisis communication, changing perceptions about an organisation, product or service, can submit a campaign into the PRISM Awards and this is strongly encouraged," she adds.

For call to entries, go to www.prisa.co.za and start preparing now, as there are specific guidelines that must be adhered to for submissions.

The 2011 PRISM Awards are presented by PRISA's Public Relations Consultancy Chapter (PRCC) and sponsored by BizCommunity, Martin Snoek Communications, The Event and The Vineyard Hotel and Spa (Newlands).
