Yoga Popup Studio very popular

Healthy lifestyle magazine, Women's Health, has pioneered a touring programme of health-focussed workshops and fitness classes suitably named, Popup Studio. Similar to popup retail, these spontaneous events infiltrate high-visibility shopping malls across the country, host fun and exciting events such as yoga classes during peak shopping times and disappear moments later.

In the same way that popup retail creates an engaging experience with consumers, leveraging off environments, interactivity, and lifestyle relevance, the purpose of these popup exercise studios is to educate women about the physical and mental advantages of yoga.

"Yoga is fast becoming a popular form of exercise in South Africa and we've seen an increase in demand and interest from women who want to gain from the mental and physical benefits associated with this form of exercise," says Lee-Anne Coosner, marketing manager for the magazine.

The most recent popup event took place at Nelson Mandela Square shopping centre in Sandton over the past weekend. Perceived as an elitist form of exercise priced out of reach for many people, the magazine now offers interested yogis the opportunity to follow free beginner, intermediate and expert yoga poses with instructional videos via its website, making yoga accessible to any woman.

The next event in Menlyn, Pretoria, is fully booked, so interested parties should go to the website www.WomensHealthSA.co.za for the latest information.
