New Simba competition
Trevor Noah, the South African comedian, will keep the public involved in the competition by encouraging entries, announcing the top 50 entries, the judging and selection of the four finalist flavours and opening the voting to the public, then finally the declaration of the winner. In addition to this, Trevor's very own lekker flavour will be launched in early 2010 in celebration of this campaign.
The judges will have the difficult task of choosing the top four finalist flavours from the top 50 entries. Chef Reuben Riffel, the owner and head chef of Reuben's, the award-winning restaurant in Franschhoek is proud to be a part of the competition. "I love local ingredients and the different tastes of the many cultures that are part of our heritage and I am looking forward to seeing what South Africans lekker flavours are," said Riffel.
Other judges, joining Chef Reuben and Carla de Quintal, marketing director of Simba, are Fru Nche, research and development director for Simba and Jenny Glover, creative director for Net#work BBDO Advertising Agency.
