Inyathelo advances philanthropy with co-sponsors
Inyathelo - The South African Institute for Advancement - is a world-recognized organization dedicated to creating a sustainable South African civil society by building local philanthropy, particularly amongst individual South Africans. In a move to further support its philanthropic efforts, BoE Private Clients and the O'Shea Foundation have come on board as co-sponsors in support of the inaugural Inyathelo Philanthropy Awards which is due to take place on the 28th November at the Rotunda, Camps Bay, Cape Town.
BoE Private Clients share Inyathelo's vision of growing philanthropy in South Africa. "Many people would like to get involved in philanthropy but have not yet taken the step to do so," says Vince Bouille, head of BoE Private Clients, "We believe that initiatives like these awards will encourage those wanting to get involved, to take that final step. Where we come in is to provide the specialised services that make it easy for them to do so."
Inyathelo believes that it is imperative to advance social change with key institutions and non-profit organizations. This is done by developing their own capacity to raise private investment towards advancing their objectives. They believe that South African organizations and institutions need to move away from their reliance on foreign donor funding and shift towards building strong relationships with the donor community within South Africa. Through these awards, Inyathelo (which means 'advancement' in isiXhosa) hopes to create role models who will assist in building a philanthropic movement in South Africa.
