Nutrient study finds food labels misleading

Nutrition labels on foods that have been fortified with vitamins and minerals are not to be trusted, a study of common products reveals.

First there was the case of Ribena, rumbled by two Auckland schoolgirls over false claims about Vitamin C levels.

Now an official study by a Christchurch food scientist from Environmental Science and Research shows the problem of dodgy labels is more widespread than people may think.
