Local production company teams up with Filmblanc
The joint venture follows in the wake of the film treaty that was signed between Canada and South Africa in 1997. It is a culmination of efforts by the Canadian Alliance for Business in South Africa (CABSA) to create a new co-production alliance for Filmblanc Canada to start Filmblanc Africa operated by GGM Productions.
Together the companies represent over 30 directors worldwide. Filmblanc Africa, operated by GGM Productions, offers the opportunity for local agencies and directors to produce commercials abroad through a network of creative talent and film centers globally.
"This is a very exiting step for both companies and also a great accolade for GGM Productions to have been selected to operate the African division of such a dynamic company", says Gerry Mostert, Executive Producer of GGM Productions. "It benefits both companies as this agreement gives both parties access to their respective roster of directors, together we represent over 30 directors worldwide. It also allows us to expand our service to different countries and strengthen and grow our client base and markets".
Filmblanc Canada’s president and Executive Producer, Noemi Weis says this union opens up new production and creative possibilities between Canada, Scandinavia , Africa and the rest of the partner markets that can benefit by this association. "It’s an interchange of talent, an interchange of productions, an interchange of clients for all markets. The message is that creatives are able to work with international talent that is not necessarily more expensive but that could give them a different angle on their creative".
South Africa has excellent resources with a big variety of locations, technically proficient crew and a favorable exchange rate that attracts a lot of foreign interest for producing foreign commercials locally. Filmblanc Africa now also offers the opportunity for local agencies and directors to produce commercials abroad through a network of creative talent and film centers globally.
"We produce without frontiers", says Noemi. "Our intention have always been to put the world together, and we are on the way. Everyone is a potential customer!"
