9mm Films applies new mobile technology to traditional production

9mm Films focuses on broadcast television production, as well as having a thriving corporate division. They produce corporate videos, in-house commercials, marketing material and do multi camera events coverage.

Keeping abreast of the latest developments in technology and the mobile revolution approaching traditional production, 9mm's current project is a new media service. They have teamed up with the video-sharing techies of Liv TV to create the new tool for the ‘Social Network', using the latest in mobile application technology – the LivLARGE service.

LivLARGE, created by 9mm Films, will combine all the current successful social scene trends in one, simple to use and effective mobile service. Primarily a ‘What's Hot' type of show that television viewers are familiar with, the service is driven by charismatic presenters, uploading live reports from venues around the country, informing the public of what's happening, what's hot and where it's at. Unlike any other listing or ‘gig guide', consumers don't have to take anyone else's word for it in well-written advertising blurbs, they can log on and see for themselves. Accessible for locals, ‘out of towners', and foreign tourists as well as the vast community of SA that does not have access to online listings, the service is a comprehensive tool for anyone seeking information on how to have a good time. LivLARGE will go live mid February 2008.

Currently they are in phase one of the project. This is the nation-wide LIV PRESENTER SEARCH. They are looking for vibey Presenters across the country to be the faces, voices and personalities of this service. Voting is taking place on line, with roughly 700 auditions posted thus far.
