This was not only the cellar's first MCC, but also reportedly, the first MCC produced in the Swartland region. The cellar has now released Kasteelberg Viognier 2009 - the winery's first non-sparkling wine under this label and it may produce a Kasteelberg Shiraz later in the year, depending on the quality of Shiraz produced. The Viognier 2009 has a cellar door price of R65.
