Fleur de Cap releases Lazlo signature wine
The award winning Fleur du Cap winemaking team through The Bergkelder has just released Lazlo 2006. Named after Dr Julius Laszlo, the innovative, visionary Cellar master at The Bergkelder in the 1980's, the wine is a blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 18% Shiraz, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec.
Laszlo 2006 has an intense deep plum colour with a bright hue. On the nose, this full-bodied wine has rich, complex layers of black cherries, cassis and fruitcake with subtle nuances of pencil shavings and mint chocolate. These opulent flavours follow through to the palate with well-integrated tobacco flavours balanced by cedar spice that is enveloped by firm tannins. This wine has sufficient freshness and structure to ensure longevity for up to 8 years.
