Sony Ericsson suffers third straight loss in Q1

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson on Friday posted a 293 million euro (US$387 million) net loss in the first quarter on falling sales and said it would slash an additional 2,000 jobs to cut costs.

Sales in the January-March quarter tumbled by 36% to 1.7 billion euros ($2.2 billion), from 2.7 billion euros ($3.5 billion) a year earlier.
