Fresh alternative to summer favourite

Nestlé Ice Cream's Country Fresh brand launched its 'healthier alternative' earlier this month. Available in vanilla and chocolate, Country Fresh Plus contains more milk and no colourants, delivering a calcium rich treat.

“Country Fresh Plus is a creamy ice cream with 60% milk, which means increased calcium content. This, coupled with the fact that no colourants are used in the product, makes for a healthier summer treat,” says marketing manager Zaba Mazibuko. “Country Fresh has been South Africa's favourite ice cream brand for over two decades and,” she says, “I believe that Country Fresh Plus delivers a new perspective on how we can enjoy ice cream given the added goodness.”

Mazibuko says the decision to create an alternative variant that answers on 21st century wellness trends was easy. “In today's time starved world it has become essential for convenience food and indulgence or treat confection to re-look at engineering products that also deliver a measure of goodness to consumers,” she says. This way we may indulge responsibly without foregoing delight.

Country Fresh Plus is available in a 1.5 litre tub, chocolate or vanilla, at supermarkets nationally and retails for approximately R41.99.
