Shape Sanex announces Cover Look winner

Dominique de Villiers, 27-year-old psychology graduate, was named the 2008 Shape Sanex Cover Look winner at the grand finale event held at The Runway in Cape Town last night, 6 May.

This Cape Town beauty's passion for healthy living, enthusiastic spirit and modest approach to life secured her the judges' votes. Of the 350 entries received this year, De Villiers best represented both the Shape and Sanex brand philosophies.

As a full-time mom, wife and part-time student, she still finds time to exercise and is passionate about running, enjoys the gym, spinning and yoga. When she's not studying towards her second degree, a BSc in Occupational Therapy, De Villiers relaxes with a good book, calligraphy and scrapbooking.

Says Shape publisher Elsa Carpenter-Frank: “Dominique's combined passion for exercise, healthy living, zest for life and unassuming attitude won us over. She's lovely to look at, but also intelligent, sincere and has a great sense of humour. She is the perfect role model for Shape readers.”

Sanex product manager, Justine King says: “Dominique's confidence and maturity shone through from the moment we met her. She has a great outlook on life, healthy skin and will make a fantastic ambassador for the Sanex brand.”

Now in its fourth year, the Shape Sanex Cover Look competition is open to all women who enjoy a healthy skin and subscribe to a balanced lifestyle. Judging took place at the luxurious Mandela Rhodes Place, a 5-star hotel in the heart of Cape Town. Two days of intense judging included a fun urban challenge that tested each finalist both physically and mentally.

De Villiers will be featured on the June cover of Shape and receives a host of prizes including a holiday for two to exotic Pemba in Mozambique with Airlink and accommodation at the Rani Resorts' gorgeous Pemba Beach Hotel & Spa and Medjumbe Island Resort worth R50,000; hampers from Sanex and Nike; a 12-month subscription to Shape; and the possible opportunity to be a brand ambassador for Sanex.
