Brandhouse invites all bartenders in South Africa to take part in the National Classic Cocktail Competition 2007/2008. SA's bartenders now have the opportunity to be creative and charismatic – so put yourself to the test, be a part of new trends and developments, submit your own cocktails, take on the world's best - and win the trip of a lifetime!
From 1-4 November at The Good Food & Wine Show at Gallagher Estate, The Classic Cocktail Theatre will be transformed into a vibrant and energetic display of skill and showmanship.
Bartenders from across the country will participate in heats on Thursday, November 1 and Friday, November 2 and then go through to the semi-finals on Saturday, November 3 and the finals on Sunday, November 4.
International judges will be looking for a balance of efficiency, taste, aroma presentation and originality in each cocktail, plus, of course, hygiene, neatness and etiquette.
The winning bartender will have the amazing experience of representing South Africa at the World Cocktail Championships in Porto Rico next year – all expenses paid, including R5000 spending money!
In recent years, bartending has become more than just a ‘stop job'.
