Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel lends grandeur to the Festive Season with South Africa's king of Cap Classiques available in a bold Magnum style that comes with an exclusive, stylish gift box.
A festive treat for lovers of sparkling wine

Desired since 1971 as the country's first Methodé Cap Classique – bottle fermented sparkling wine made in the style of French champagne – Kaapse Vonkel continues to earn Simonsig Estate a distinguished standing amongst lovers of sparkling wine across the globe.

A former winner of WINE Magazine's annual AMORIM Cork Cap Classique Challenge, Vonkel took top honours in the 2007 Best Sparkling Wine (non-Champagne) category at the Perswijn Wijnconcours Awards in the Netherlands. More recently it was voted 3rd Best International Sparkling Wine in the world, in the 2006 readers' choice list of Weinwirtschaft – Germany's leading wine trade magazine.

Complementing the captivating charm of the bubbly, the sophisticated gift box flaunts a chic ebony and ivory design and is the perfect present to take along to any festive Christmas feast.

The 2003 vintage is a charismatic medley of Chardonnay (50%), Pinot Noir (47%) and Pinot Meunier (3%). The Chardonnay imparts a clean flintiness whilst the Pinot Noir fulfills body and taste.

The Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Magnum and gift box are available from R165 (per set) at selected supermarkets and fine wine outlets countrywide.
