    Dawes takes the chair at Sanef

    Editors from around the country gathered on Saturday for the Sanef Council Meeting in Cape Town.
    Dawes takes the chair at Sanef

    At the meeting, Nicholas Dawes, editor of Mail & Guardian, was elected as chairperson. Dawes was previously acting chairperson and takes over from Mondli Makhanya who stepped down as chairman of Sanef for another venture outside of the newsroom.

    The deputy chairperson of Sanef is Mpumelelo Mkhabela, editor of Sowetan. Makhudu Sefara, editor of The Star will take over from Mpumelelo as head of the Media Freedom Subcommittee of Sanef.
